Hi everybody, my name is Steve. I have been playing for 37 years now, having first started my interest in guitar with a neighborhood friend who was playing guitar, and got me to learn AC/DC's Back In Black.

I have been teaching professionally since 1986, from one to one lesson business to 60 students a week in the SF Bay Area (California), to classroom teaching in several UK music colleges for the last 10 years, receiving my PGCE award in 2011 via Middlesex University.

I have also had an extensive performing and recording career in the style of heavy metal, recording and or touring with the likes of Testament, Forbidden, Vicious Rumors, Dragonlord, and Nevermore, and most recently my own band, One Machine.

I bring real world experience into our lessons, and can help prepare you for music college and a career in music, in the areas of performance (creativity, improvisation), technical development (chords, scales, arpeggios, techniques), musicianship (theory, sight-reading/notational skills, ear training, transcribing music), and last but not least, songwriting and arranging.

BUT, I also teach those who simply want to learn music for FUN as well, so ALL STYLES AND LEVELS ARE WELCOME!

I provide handouts/pdfs of lesson material via an email recap, and provide email correspondence between lessons, to ensure lesson material is retained.
